Leading corporate bank in Vorarlberg<br />
Corporate services represent an important pillar of the Issuer's activities. Being a universal bank, Hypo<br />
<strong>Landes</strong>bank Vorarlberg offers its corporate customers both traditional banking products and other bankrelated<br />
services such as leasing, real-estate services, and insurances through its subsidiaries. The range of<br />
financing portfolio products also includes equity financing as well as competent advice and support in<br />
connection with subsidy programmes and institutions.<br />
The lending volume to corporate customers as of 31 December 2009 for an amount of EUR 4,230.2 million<br />
(2008: 4,068.6 million) <strong>und</strong>erscores the leading position of Hypo <strong>Landes</strong>bank Vorarlberg as a corporate<br />
bank. Significant increases in 2009 were also achieved outside Vorarlberg by the branch offices in Vienna,<br />
Graz, and Wels as well as in the adjacent area aro<strong>und</strong> Lake Constance in the Federal Republic of Germany<br />
and Switzerland.<br />
Successful residential real estate bank<br />
The lending volume to private customers has been increased by 4.8% compared to the year 2008. It<br />
amounts EUR 1,565.4 million as of 31 December 2009. The Issuer will further focus on this traditional<br />
important pillar especially with its special products "Hypo-Lebenswert-Kredit" (a financing product in<br />
particular for seniors after retirement to maintain their living standard) and "Hypo-Klima-Kredit" (supports<br />
energy saving investments).<br />
Private Banking<br />
The Issuer operates separate private banking centres in all large branch offices in Vorarlberg and in Lech,<br />
Graz, Wels, and Vienna. A particular quality feature of these centres consists in the fact that only qualified<br />
investment managers provide services. The "Private Banking Plus" division is a team of experts which<br />
provides further optimised professional and individual support of investment customers.<br />
Asset Management<br />
At 31 December 2009, assets <strong>und</strong>er management totalled EUR 732.9 million. Compared to 2008 this<br />
means an increase of 13.70%.<br />
Hypo Portfolio and Asset Management is well-positioned in Vorarlberg, particularly given investors' renewed<br />
interest in a safe haven (capital preservation concepts and international investing standards). Portfolio and<br />
Asset Management employs effective and dynamic investment strategies. Strict discipline in market and<br />
security selection and containing risk and costs remains a high priority.<br />
At the end of the year 2009, Hypo <strong>Landes</strong>bank Vorarlberg acted as a custodian for 81 Austrian investment<br />
f<strong>und</strong>s. The F<strong>und</strong> Service division's core competence is to act as depositary for Austrian investment f<strong>und</strong>s.<br />
Apart from its custodian role for investment f<strong>und</strong>s, Hypo <strong>Landes</strong>bank Vorarlberg also supports foreign f<strong>und</strong><br />
providers acting as a tax representative and paying agent in the Republic of Austria. Over 200 customers<br />
were supported by the Bank in 2009.<br />
Significant new products and/or activities<br />
Thanks to the introduction of the international "GIPS ®1 "-Standard (Global Investment Performance<br />
Standards) in Private Banking in 2005, Hypo <strong>Landes</strong>bank Vorarlberg is able to offer comparable<br />
performance results. The quality standard and the transparency toward our customers resulting from Global<br />
Investment Performance Standards was recently audited and attested by PricewaterhouseCoopers in<br />
March 2009.<br />
