2 Silver Series Programming ManualChapter 1 – IntroductionWelcomeWelcome to the Maple Systems’ Silver Series Operator Interface Terminals (OITs) from Watlow. Using graphic OITshas never been easier. This powerful family of graphic OITs connects to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) toprovide the human-machine interface in industrial applications. The Silver Series has several features not found inother graphic OITs. Introduction 3In most cases, we will describe each method when the task is first discussed. The menu method is then usedwhenever the task is used in later procedures. For example, if you are directed to typea:\setup, you should type all the bold characters exactly as they are printed.Placeholders for information you must provide. For example, if you are directed to typefilename, you should type the actual name for a file instead of the word shown in italic type.Italics are also used to indicate a glossary term.Directory names, file names, key names, and acronymsA plus sign (+) between key names means to press and hold down the first key while you pressthe second key.Refers to clicking the primary mouse button (usually the left mouse button) once.Refers to quickly clicking the primary mouse button (usually the left mouse button) twice.Refers to clicking the secondary mouse button (usually the right mouse button) once.
