Students should make a habit of regularly checking their lcmail.lcsc.eduaccounts. Failure to check and use lcmail.lcsc.edu may result in students being unaware ofassignments, notices, changes in policies, etc. for which students will be held accountable.Students may open their lcmail.lcsc.edu accounts by going to the <strong>LCSC</strong> home page(www.lcsc.edu) and selecting lcmail.lcsc.edu. Directions are provided for first-time users.Many <strong>PACE</strong> courses are delivered utilizing Internet Blackboard Learn. Students needlcmail.lcsc.edu accounts to access Blackboard Learn. Information about Distance Learning andBlackboard Learn may be accessed at www.lcsc.edu/dl. This site provides links to informationabout registering on line, the schedule of courses, Blackboard Learn, how to get help, andmore.When you first open your Blackboard Learn Course, take time to read the informationprovided on using Blackboard Learn. This will save otherwise waste time later. Rememberthat Blackboard Learn is active during the scheduled dates for fall, spring, and summersessions. You will not be able to access Blackboard Learn when the college is not in session.If you are given an Incomplete, you may look for your course identified by the previous sessionwhen Blackboard Learn is again active. Your instructor will ask Distance Learning to permitaccess so you can complete the course. Be aware that a grade of Incomplete is automaticallychanged to a grade of F unless you have completed the course during the additional semester orsummer session. Please contact your DLT Instructor to know when the deadline is for yourspecific incomplete. You should know this before you end the course in which it wasofferedSection 4 – INTERNSHIPSTwo Semesters of InternshipsElementary internship experiences are scheduled over one summer and one semester. InternshipI requires approximately 140 hours and Internship II approximately 640 hours in the schools.Internship I will be completed during the second summer at a designated field site. Your CourseInstructor, <strong>PACE</strong> Advisor and/or <strong>LCSC</strong> Supervisor, and an OSTE in the partnership school towhich you are assigned will supervise you. All Summer II interns will be scheduled together at aschool site. Candidates have flexibility in the <strong>PACE</strong> Program to seek out a site for theirInternship II as personal circumstances dictate. Final arrangements are made by the <strong>PACE</strong>Coordinator and/or Faculty SupervisorDuring the second semester, interns are assigned to a school ideally five days a week for eithersixteen or thirty-two week sessions. Internship II can be completed full or part time as long as thearrangements are approved by the <strong>PACE</strong> Coordinator and/or Faculty Supervisor for the requisiterequirement.16
