The college supervisor is responsible to the intern and on-site teacher educator in helping tofacilitate the internship experience. The college supervisor is an advocate for the intern and aresource for both the intern and the on-site teacher educator.Qualifications<strong>College</strong> supervisors should meet the following qualifications. Under unique situationsadjustment may be made with the approval of The <strong>PACE</strong> Coordinator and/or Faculty Supervisorand The <strong>Education</strong> <strong>Division</strong> Chair.Have earned a Master’s Degree or higher.Have at least five years experience in the elementary or secondary schools as a certifiedteacher or administrator and course work or experience in instructional supervision.Have the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with interns and on-site teachereducators in offering evaluation and support.Are willing to share information and materials and to participate occasionally as functioningmembers of the classroom instructional team.Are interested in collaborating with other educators as a member of a professionaldevelopment group and agree to meet as necessary for effective program functioning.ResponsibilitiesThe Contracted <strong>College</strong> Supervisor is expected to accomplish the following:Work to nurture a professional cadre in a community of learning so that all members mayexperience personal success and professional growth.Prior to the internship experience, conference with the intern and on-site teacher educator toreview the roles and responsibilities of the team and establish a preliminary calendar.During the first semester observe and/or conference with the intern and on-site teachereducator at least four at the internship site. During the second semester observe and/orconference with the intern and on-site teacher educator at least eight times at the internshipsite.Complete a written Internship I Evaluation, a written Mid Term Internship II Evaluation, anda written Final Internship II Evaluation.Participate in the Exit Interview together with the intern, on-site teacher educator, and oneother representative of the Elementary <strong>Education</strong> Instructional Team.Be available to the intern and on-site teacher educator should problems in communication orinstruction occurs. Share any serious problems or concerns with the <strong>PACE</strong> Coordinatorand/or Faculty Supervisor.32
