124In May this year a survey on trends in telework development in Poland was conducted by thestaff <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Management Information Systems, Faculty <strong>of</strong> Management, TechnicalUniversity <strong>of</strong> Czêstochowa. The survey was carried out in manufacturing, service and commercialfirms. The survey covered firms in the whole territory <strong>of</strong> Poland, representing various industriessuch as: tobacco, telecommunications, education, construction, computer systems, medical – bothstate-owned and private. Fig.2 shows the percentages <strong>of</strong> particular industries in the survey.Fig.2.Industries included in the survey.[Source: the authors’ own research]The conducted overall analysis shows that telework is mainly understood as the form <strong>of</strong> workoutside the firm’s premises with the use <strong>of</strong> available computer and communication technology.The chart on next page presents the hardware being in possession <strong>of</strong> the surveyed firms.
