128The people surveyed were asked about the benefits for the Company which could decide abouttelework implementation. Chart 8 presents the analysis <strong>of</strong> the benefits, significant from themanager’s point <strong>of</strong> view for a company implementing telework.Fig. 8.Benefits for the organisation from telework implementationWhat benefits from work done outside the company premises are important for the company?[Source: the authors’ own research]The following conclusions can be drawn from the conducted survey:• telework is most frequently understood as the form <strong>of</strong> work outside the form’s premises with theuse <strong>of</strong> available computer and communication technology – 57%;• telework is first <strong>of</strong> all the chance to reduce the organisation’s operational costs – 72,5%(economic dimension <strong>of</strong> telework) and the possibility <strong>of</strong> employing disabled people – 39%(ethical dimension <strong>of</strong> telework);• telework brings about the reduction <strong>of</strong> traffic – 54% and environment pollution – 39%(ecological dimension <strong>of</strong> telework);• teleworker should be assessed for the performance <strong>of</strong> a particular task – 95%.The conducted survey enabled the determination <strong>of</strong> general trends <strong>of</strong> the development <strong>of</strong> thenew form <strong>of</strong> work organisation, using the available computer and communication technology i.e.telework. It is difficult to estimate how many teleworkers there are currently in Poland. There aremore and more organisations interested in telework implementation. Unfortunately, the lack <strong>of</strong>appropriate legal regulations is the primary obstacle to its development.ConclusionsThis paper is a collection <strong>of</strong> fundamental researches conducted on the basis <strong>of</strong> surveys connectedwith the use <strong>of</strong> telework in Poland. Telework is generally considered in two essential areas:• organisational: division <strong>of</strong> tasks into those which can be performed in form <strong>of</strong> telework and thedetermination <strong>of</strong> those tasks which require the employee’s presence in the <strong>of</strong>fice;• technical: the scope <strong>of</strong> information technology application.
