Ch. 14 – Using Other Windows Imaging Applications in Advanced ModeDefining Image SetupsAn image setup serves two crucial purposes:• It defines the way a picture will be taken.• It defines the way the program automatically modifies a picture after it is taken.Image setups are defined to optimize the picture taking process for different types of images or microscopytechniques. They can becreated, saved, and recalled asneeded. To define a newimage setup, you may selectone of 11 pre-defined imagetypes as a template fordefining the new setup (autoexposure)or define thesettings yourself (manualexposure). The 11 predefinedimage types (inaddition to the FactoryDefaults setting) correspondto commonly usedmicroscopy techniques.The Image Setup window is now comprised of 6 separate windows. Refer to Ch. 5- Preparing to Take aPicture for a table of the different image types.• To modify the current image setup, click on the Modify button.• To delete an image setup, select the image setup from the list, and click on the Delete button.• To define a new image setup, click on the Add button. The New Image Setup window appears with alist of pre-defined and user-defined templates (image types). Brackets indicate pre-defined imagetypes < >. Select a template, and click on OK.When you add a new image setup or modify an existing setup, the Image Setup window appears, as shownat right.
