Other agreementsAt least one person from each subcontractor must be constantly available by telephone outsideworking hours. This availability should be set out on a rota.Any <strong>HSE</strong>-specific data should be forwarded to HPE in electronic form.3.3. Health protection3.3.1. Check upsThe contractor is responsible for ensuring that only such staff are used who have successfullyundergone the currently required occupational medical check ups .3.3.2. Social facilitiesOffices, break rooms, toilets, washing facilities, showers etc. must be available in sufficient numbersand must be cleaned and maintained regularly.Sufficient heating and lighting must be provided.Toilets must be provided in the direct vicinity of the workplace. The number of them depends on thenumber of people employed. Local laws and regulations must be complied with. As a rule of thumbtoilet facilities should be provided at least in the ratio of one toilet to twenty employees. This is unlesslocal regulations require a greater number.In the boiler house sufficient toilets must be provided every 20 metres.The waste water quality must comply with the requirements of the drainage system.Parts of the social facilities are the first aid facilities (cf. Sectionl 8.4).Special regional or project-specific features3.3.3. Pest controlA pest control <strong>plan</strong> must be established if necessary in close collaboration with the client. Subcontractorsmust not use any remedies without HPE's permission. Checks are necessary here.3.4. Occupational safety3.4.1. GeneralThis section sets out the minimum requirements for safe working on the site. Should local laws orregulations deviate from this the more stringent regulation must be applied.3.4.1.1. Collective protective measures:The use of collective protective measures must be preferred to the use of individual protectiveequipment.
