It removes residue and enablesa controlled build up of a protective layer.Typical pickling procedure steps are, for example:- pre-rinsing with deionised water- rinsing with a surface-active agent- rinsing with deionised water- heating the system- dynamic acid treatment- replacing the acid and rinsing- alkaline treatment and passivationApart from hydrofluoric acid other substances such as hydrochloric acid are also used. Dependingon the process, the required additional temporary installations are planned. Liquid chemicals arenormally supplied in 1,000 IBC’s. The floor should be level and have a sufficient load capacity. Becauseof the risks, as a precaution, an emergency plan should be developed and discussed at theinstallation site with the staff and mainly with the first alders and the rescue workers.3.4.9.2. Blowing outBlowing out is a method of removing foreign bodies from the plant component. It is used to protectturbines which react very sensitively to foreign bodies. The steam is fed at high pressure throughthe pipe system and associated parts. As a rule the area around the steam boiler or the completeboiler house and areas in front of the connection openings must be considered at risk and cordonedoff. Safety measures must be kept in place until cooling is complete. Mufflers should be considered.In general a sound pressure of more than 120dB (A) is possible. Hot steam may precipitateas mist in the environment. Clouds may be coloured with paint residue or corrosion protectionmaterial. Excavation workExcavation work comes under the site's work permit system.Infrastructure documentation for underground cables, pipes etc. must be available on the site. Inaddition the exact position and condition of these lines must be checked precisely in advance. Also,in consultation with HPE and the client, noxious substance registers and a test for agents to combatthese substances must be evaluated and if suspected measures must be defined to ensure thatnobody comes into contact with hazardous substances or explosives.When digging holes and trenches DIN 4124 "Excavations and trenches" the Construction AccidentPrevention and Insurance Association CD must be adhered to.Excavations and trenches must be safeguarded by side protection or cordoned off.3.4.10.2. Drilling and pile driving workDrilling and pile driving work comes under the site's work permit system.Infrastructure documentation for underground cables, pipes etc. must be available on the site. Inaddition the exact position and condition of these lines must be checked precisely in advance. Also,in consultation with HPE and the client noxious substance registers and a test for agents to combatthese substances must be evaluated and if suspected measures must be defined to ensure thatnobody comes into contact with hazardous substances or explosives.The position and impact of ground water, surface water courses etc. must be taken into considerationin order to avoid accidents and contamination.Noise arising from the work must be kept to a minimum.All materials, particularly reinforcing steel, must be stored safely to avoid injuries.3.4.11. Electrical work3.4.11.1. Electrical equipmentMobile electrical equipment must be checked regularly by an electrician to ensure that it is in goodcondition. A guideline of three months is allowed for verification periods. The subcontractor is responsiblefor setting the verification period.
