These areas must, for example, be blocked off for a sufficient distance andmarked by warning notices.In particular assembly work taking place high up must be firmly blocked off to a sufficient distanceand marked with warning notices. Lifting loads above traffic routes and the working areas of othersubcontractors is not permitted. Such areas must be blocked off for a short time and unblockedagain immediately after work is finished.For the duration of their work in hazardous working areas the respective subcontractors must providesuitable protective devices, such as side protection, covers or barriers. This protective equipmentmust be checked constantly and if necessary repaired. In addition this protective equipmentmust be kept in place beyond the period of the particular work so that it can also be used by others.Hazardous areas must basically be firmly blocked off, marked and lit in accordance with the regulations.Before uncovering openings or removing side protection, for example, sturdy barriers must be setup at a sufficient distance. These barriers must only be removed again after the work has beencompleted. Suitable measures against falling must be taken before removing protective devices.With holes in the ground in any case ensure that people cannot walk across them and cover themso that the cover cannot be removed or protect with side protection.The following are considered to be holes Openings 9.0 m 2 or Openings bordered by a straight line where one edge is 3.0 m long.Protective measures must only be removed with the agreement of HPE and the constructor. PTWmust be complied with.Under certain circumstances protective equipment will be provided by HPE. Any costs incurred willbe borne by the relevant subcontractor.3.4.1.2. Tidiness on the siteWorking areas, thoroughfares, stairs and all other areas must be kept free of building rubble,equipment and materials. Storage areas must be clean and the materials stored there kept tidy andin a stable condition.Screws and other small parts must be stored and transported in plastic boxes or metal containers.Storing in cardboard boxes is forbidden.Waste containers must be placed in accessible places on the site and be used for the disposal ofscrap materials and other waste.Liquids and materials (e.g. paints, solvents, thinners, oils and grease) or containers that containchemicals must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.Transport routes must be kept free of cables, hoses, wires and other temporary systems. Theymust be fastened at a certain height so that they are not an obstacle on the ground or to the lightsof the traffic route.
