Dok.-Nr. / Doc.-No.HPES-306-001-Standard HSE Plan englischA steel fire protection screen must be provided between the acetylene and oxygen bottles up tothe level of the pressure reducing device or they must be stored separately.Acetylene and propane gas bottles must be fitted with a "flame quencher".When they have finished their work and/or at the end of their working day workers must checkthe workplace for any fire risks, turn off gas and oxygen bottles, turn off the spindles on thepressure reducing equipment and turn electrical welding equipment.3.4.9. Cleaning closed systemsBefore hiring, normally cleaning processes, such as rinsing, pickling and, if necessary, air cleaningis specified by the HPE project manager, if necessary with the help of CM.Normally only chemicals that are registered in accordance with REACH can be used (see alsoSec.5.21 Hazardous substances). In addition, the removal of rinsing water and waste water that occurs during pickling must be treatedin accordance with VGB-R 513 "Internal cleaning of water pipe steam generation plants andpipes".3.4.9.1. PicklingPickling is a chemical surface cleaning process before commissioning. It removes residue and enablesa controlled build up of a protective layer.Typical pickling procedure steps are, for example:- pre-rinsing with deionised water- rinsing with a surface-active agent- rinsing with deionised water- heating the system- dynamic acid treatment- replacing the acid and rinsing- alkaline treatment and passivationApart from hydrofluoric acid other substances such as hydrochloric acid are also used. Dependingon the process, the required additional temporary installations are planned. Liquid chemicals arenormally supplied in 1,000 IBC’s. The floor should be level and have a sufficient load capacity. Becauseof the risks, as a precaution, an emergency plan should be developed and discussed at theinstallation site with the staff and mainly with the first alders and the rescue workers.3.4.9.2. Blowing outBlowing out is a method of removing foreign bodies from the plant component. It is used to protectturbines which react very sensitively to foreign bodies. The steam is fed at high pressure throughthe pipe system and associated parts. As a rule the area around the steam boiler or the completeboiler house and areas in front of the connection openings must be considered at risk and cordonedoff. Safety measures must be kept in place until cooling is complete. Mufflers should be considered. In general a sound pressure of more than 120dB (A) is possible. Hot steam may precipitateas mist in the environment. Clouds may be coloured with paint residue or corrosion protectionmaterial. Neighbours and the authorities should be informed.VOR180_1 Seite / Page 32 ÷ 56HPES-306-001-e-Standard HSE Plan Ausg. / Issue 03.2011
