Any dirt must be removedimmediately. The client must be notified of any environmental-related contamination.Traffic on the site roads must not be obstructed or endangered by temporarily stored materials andconstruction aids.The client must be notified immediately of any traffic influencing measures (e.g. construction workin road areas such as sewer work, setting up platforms for lifting people, cranes, scaffolding) in orderto ensure that sufficient insurance is in place.3.4.4.4. Special transportFor the special transportation of bulky or heavy goods the contractor must inform the client in goodtime about the road conditions and take all necessary safety precautions. In particular care must betaken with narrow areas, thoroughfare heights, superstructures (e.g. pipe bridges), control andelectrical cables laid on the road etc.Accompanying personnel must be requested in good time from the client in order to manage andsecure special transport (e.g. workplace safety).3.4.4.5. Traffic regulationsThe provisions of the Highway Code and the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations and special companyregulations apply to all road users on the site and in the external car parks.In particular all vehicles and machines must be in a safe operational condition at all times (compliancewith MOT regulations and Accident Prevention and Insurance Association regulations).The maximum speed is 20km/h unless there are any regulations to the contrary.Rail vehicles have right of way in principle. Track junctions have no special marking.The rail service manager must be informed of any restriction to the normal clearance on the rails.3.4.4.6. Driving and parking vehiclesAccess to the site or to the company must only be via the traffic routes provided for this. Vehiclesmust only be parked where they do not hinder or block the flow of traffic, the rail tracks, the fire brigade,fire extinguishing equipment (e.g. hydrants), emergency exits or entrances or exits.3.4.4.7.
