Punishment provides lesson to criminals and prospectivecriminals that crime should not be committed. Criminals get this lessonnot to commit crime when they make hedonistic calculation, meaningcalculation of pain and pleasure to be derived from crime commission.For imposition of sentence, it is much required that evidences relating tocrime commission are properly collected. Evidences in a criminal case arecollected during investigation. Investigation is primary responsibility of Interrogation of persons acquainted with fact and circumstances of case ismost traditional, important and used method. In Criminal Procedure Code,supposed to be acquainted with fact and circumstances of case. Statements recovery of incriminating things and knowing about crucial witnesses ofcase, who may be produced by prosecution at the time of trial. If the powersrelating to interrogation are properly exercised and interrogation is properlyconducted, problem of crime and criminality may be properly tackled.
