It has emerged as a critical issue. It is also alingening-issue of women’s movement in India and amendments are alsowomen bodies started demanding a Civil Law. After a rigorous exercise forwhich is intended to provide and protect the women from being victims ofthe Domestic Violence and to prevent the occurrence of Domestic Violencein the society, was passed in the form of Protection of Women fromso far as the offence of Domestic Violence is concerned. However, thedoubt is about its effective implementation. It appears that the framers ofthe Act completely lost their way and ended with drafting a more PenalLaw dealing with offenders rather than dealing with social problems of theVIOLENCE against women, a widespread phenomenon, isespecially shameful violation, which effectively depriveswomen of all their rights. It is an obstacle to the achievement ofthe objectives of equality, development and peace. It is viewed as oneof the most crucial societal mechanism by which women are forcedinto subordinate position.
