He must have spent hours shouting at people andtreating suspects with third degree at the Police Station. He cannotsimply switch his mood off and appear sweet and pleasant when hereaches home. He is not a case in isolation in this regard; I wouldlevel throughout the country would have similar tales to tell. I haveat the Police Station and the circle level, for nearly four decades. Thebrutish conduct at work. They lack peace at home and their childrenthe depredations of the criminals! There are instances where their ownchildren have turned criminals in the process!Concluding NoteI have always nourished the hope that with the passing of time, thispeople will be aware of their rights and resist their violation by thepolice or by any other arm of the State. But, to my great disappointment,things have only changed for the worse. No doubt there has beenmuch greater awareness than in the past, but it has not been ableto make a dent on any of the evil practices police is notorious for.It is necessary for the leadership of the police to show courage andcharacter.
