Potter teaches at Columbia University and is Deputy Directorof Gulf/2000, a major research and documentation project on the PersianGulf states. He received an M.A. from S.O.A.S. and a Ph.D. in History fromColumbia. He co-edited three books on the Persian Gulf, the latest beingIran, Iraq and the Legacies of War (2004), and is currently editing a bookon the history of the Persian Gulf.Richard Schofield is Lecturer in Boundary Studies and Convenor of theMaster’s programme in Geopolitics, Territory and Security (formerly InternationalBoundary Studies) at King’s College, London. He has writtenextensively on territorial aspects of Iran, Arabia and the Persian Gulf regionand is currently writing a book (with James Denselow), New Iraq, OldNeighbours: Borders, Territoriality and Region Hurst & Co./ColumbiaUniversity Press 2007.Graham Williamson lives in Hornchurch, Essex, England. He has beeninterested in military history for many years and became fascinated withthe history of the early Qajar rulers. He has had articles published in theJournals of the International Qajar Studies Association, Continental WarSociety and the Iran Society.
