Maintenance • Preventive Maintenance Schedule ••Preventive Maintenance ScheduleTo ensure that the RoadRunner continues to operate at its greatest capabilities,perform the preventive maintenance steps at the intervals indicated inchart on the following page.This chart is based on programming 20,000 devices each week. If you processmore than that, preventive maintenance should be performed moreoften.Maintenance ScheduleInterval Component Tools Required ActionConveyor BeltIsopropyl alcoholLint-free clothcompressed airClean the exposed portion with isopropyl alcohol on acloth, then dry it. Rotate the belt and repeat.DailySocketsRemove dust and debris with clean, dry compressed air.Press down on the socket opener to ensure dust anddebris are cleared from beneath the contacts as well.Check for wear; replace the Socket Adapter module ifnecessary.4mm Allen Wrench Or, as needed for best throughput:Remove the Socket Adapter and clean in an ultrasonicbath with approved cleaning fluid.Tape-In Module compressed air Remove dust and debris with clean, dry compressed air.Entire System Vac-Tool Perform the system self-test once each week, withpower and air, to verify proper operation of all internalelectronic systems.5WeeklyTo run the self-test perform the following:1. End a job if one is running.2. Clear all devices from the sockets and fromthe conveyor belt.3. Toggle the power switch OFF, then ON again.The self-test will begin automatically. Checkthe LCD display for system errors.Remove the Socket Adapter and blow off the BackplanePCB terminals.Clean with water on a clean, lint-free cloth or swab.Check for wear; replace the tips if necessary.Clean with isopropyl alcohol on a cloth.Backplane-toadapterterminalsPNP Probe Tipsdry compressed airwatercloth or swabIsopropyl alcoholLint-free clothQuarterlyChassis and CoversNOTE: Do not use solvents such as acetone,lacquer thinner, mineral spirits, orany type of abrasive compound on thesafety shield surfaces.
