Operation • Supervisor Functions •• Robot DiagnosticsSupervisorFunctionsRobot DiagnosticsThe robot diagnostics menu contains a series of utilities used to verify properoperation and to troubleshoot the robotic system. These utilities are also usefulwhen performing tests from other system menus.For the Robot Diagnosticsmenu see Figure 3-21 onpage 3-25.The basic functions provided by the utilities in this menu are:• Enable and disable the robot subsection• Allow system dry runs• Enable and disable the output belt components• View other system sensors• Cycle each of the PNP probes and test all other pneumatic componentsDry RunWhen Run Mode is selected in the Robot Diags menu, use the UpArrow or Down Arrow to toggle between Job and Dry Run. Use DryRun to check the mechanical function of the robotics. Devices do not needto be present. When Dry Run is visible at the keypad screen the programmeris disabled as well as two sensors: the vacuum detect sensors and thecover-tape-broken sensor. Dry Run can be used to isolate mechanical problemsor when the <strong>RoadRunner</strong> is new or has just been repaired. It can also beused to even out the conveyor belt when <strong>RoadRunner</strong> has been inactive for aweek or more.3BeltWhen the Move command is selected in the Robot Diags > Beltmenu, the belt can be set in motion with the Up Arrow (forward) or DownArrow (backward). This allows the belt speed to be displayed. The speed is ameasurement of the time in milliseconds that it took the belt to travel onehead distance.The Measure Device command in the Belt menu measures and centersthe device at the End-of-Belt optic. (When starting a job, <strong>RoadRunner</strong>automatically centers the first device to arrive at the end of the belt to set thepick point.)The Adjust Devicecommand:1/4 mm1/4 mmThe Offset command in the Belt menu allows adjusting the device positionto accommodate the SMT pick head in the event that centering thedevice at the pick point (via the Measure Device command) is undesirable.Scroll to and select [] Robot Diags > Belt > Offset. Push theUp or Down Arrow once to adjust and wait for the belt to adjust the position.Press Menu to record and exit the Offset command.SensorsSelecting Robot Diagnostics, then Sensors, displays the state of the sensors.1 = blocked. 0 = unblocked.
