Chapter33OperationThe ProLINE-<strong>RoadRunner</strong> operates with a set of job instructionsthat can be configured and contained on a PCMCIA memory card. Theinstructions provide a detailed description of the programming requirementsfor a particular semiconductor device or group of devices. A PCMCIA cardis referred to as a job card after a set of instructions are written to it. Theremay be more than one set of instructions on the PCMCIA memory card, withthe maximum number depending upon the card’s memory capacity. However,one set per card is recommended.Within the two levels offunctions mentionedhere, there are manymenu commands to customize<strong>RoadRunner</strong>operation.There are two levels of functions:• those performed by an operator• those performed by the supervisorSome of the functions of the <strong>RoadRunner</strong>, like calibration, are only availableto the system supervisor. Additionally, <strong>RoadRunner</strong> job creation is generallyconsidered a system supervisor function.The <strong>RoadRunner</strong> operator performs specific functions concerned with runningprogramming jobs while a system supervisor has the ability to set<strong>RoadRunner</strong> operational parameters, view operational statistics and performvarious diagnostic routines. Create programming jobs using TaskLink forWindows.Operator FunctionsThis section describes operator steps for setting up <strong>RoadRunner</strong> to Programdevices.Basic Operator StepsTo set up <strong>RoadRunner</strong> to Program Devices, the operator must:1. Change the Socket Adapter, page 3-5.2. Change the Precisor, page 3-7 (standard models only).3.
