[Check points]<br />

1) Turn on the radar power supply. After the countdown is completed, start emission and<br />

check that the radar image appears without error.<br />

Transmit radar signals on a long range (48NM) and open the serviceman menu to perform<br />

tuning adjustment (Refer to Section 7.1.3 of the instruction manual). Adjust the setting in the<br />

serviceman menu until the tuning indication bar on the display unit reaches the 8th calibration<br />

marking.<br />

4.3.10 Encoder replacement (CHT-71A)<br />

[Required tools]<br />

• A Phillips screwdriver for 4 mm screws<br />

• A Phillips screwdriver for 5 mm screws<br />

• A wrench (width across flats 7 mm, for M4 screws)<br />

• A wrench (width across flats 8 mm, for M6 screws)<br />

• Tools for removing the cover from the scanner unit<br />

(see Section 4.3.1, page 4-24)<br />

[Replacement procedure]<br />

1) Remove the cover on the right (starboard)<br />

side (see Section 4.3.1, page 4-24), remove the<br />

cables connected to the transmitter-receiver<br />

unit and the screws (three M5 screws)<br />

holding the transmitter-receiver unit in<br />

place, and remove the transmitter-receiver<br />

unit.<br />
