4.3.2 Magnetron replacement (M1568BS)<br />

[Required tools]<br />

• A Phillips screwdriver for 4 mm screws<br />

• A shielded Phillips screwdriver for 5 mm screws<br />

• Tools for removing the cover from the scanner unit<br />

(see Section 4.3.1, page 4-24)<br />

[Replacement procedure]<br />

1) Remove the covers from the right (starboard)<br />

side (see Section 4.3.1, page 4-24) and loosen<br />

the screws (four M4 screws) to remove the<br />

magnetron cover.<br />

Loosen the<br />

four screws.<br />

2) Make sure there is no charge remaining<br />

between J2101 pin 1 and J2101 pin 3 in<br />

the Modulator circuit board CPA-264.<br />

(Multimeter requires DC1000V input<br />

capability), and then remove the screws<br />

(two M4 screws) holding the magnetron<br />

cables (yellow and green) in place.<br />

Remove the<br />

four screws.<br />

3) Remove the screws (four M4 screws)<br />

holding the magnetron in place, then<br />

replace the magnetron after cutting the<br />

leads (yellow and green) for the<br />

replacement magnetron to an appropriate<br />

length.<br />

Remove the<br />

green cable.<br />

Remove the<br />

yellow cable.<br />

Remove the<br />

two screws.<br />
