% a i v LOWER SCHOOL The Wardlaw-Hartridge Lower School, consisting of kindergarten to sixth grade, is where the student starts to learn the basic skills. While primary grade lessons are much the same everywhere, the youngsters learn the importance of being welldressed in uniforms, eating community meals and developing good social habits. As the children enter the elementary level, the skills become more specialized and they begin to prepare for both high school and college. Life at the Lower School is not all work, as the children play on tire jungle gyms and run around the fields. An annual field day, mix-match day and talent shows allow the kids to be wild and escape the confines of the classroom. With the aid of a dedicated staff, the Lower Schoolers enter the middle and upper schools well prepared for the exciting and challenging years ahead. As they grow older, to them days seem to be just normal, but to the older and wiser students they are viewed as those "adorable brats.” )
