death follows shortly after birth, due to hypoplasia

of the lungs.

Prognosis: Bilateral renal agenesis results in intrauterine

fetal death in 40%. The rest die usually

shortly after birth. Unilateral renal agenesis does

not affect the further development of the infant

and does not restrict the quality of life.
