Female. Length 9 mm.; wing 7 mm. Proboscis yellowish-brown,
with short setae and numerous sub-erect black scales. Occiput yellow-
ish-brown, with white scales and short brown to black bristles, a
narrow longitudinal stripe nude. Mesonotum brown ; a longitudinal
median stripe of brilliant golden yellow curved scales, the stripe ex-
tending in some specimen almost across the antescutellar space to the
scutellum, in others barely half way; each side of the median stripe
is a bare stripe of equal width; narrowly bordering the bare stripes
on the outer margins is a line of golden yellow scales and limiting
these outwardly is a line of dense black, narrow, curved scales; be-
yond this is a large irregular area clothed with broad white scales;
each side of the antescutellar space with a broad bare stripe; humeri
bare; antescutellar space largely white scaled. Abdomen with numer-
ous whitish, yellowish and brown scales, the brown scales predominat-
ing on the sides; short brownish and yellowish setae numerous. Ven-
ter predominatingly white scaled. Legs stout, long; femora yellow-
ish, clothed for the greater part with small black and pale scales,
a prominent apical band of erect, long black scales; tibiae yellowish-
brown, with narrow basal rings of appressed yellow scales, beyond
with dense, erect, long black scales; hind tarsi with basal white rings,
the rest clothed with dense black scales, erect on the first and second
