As a socially responsible company, New Services Belgium has a strong<br />

commitment to the integration of disabled individuals within its various<br />

departments. The Group's Belgian subsidiary’s consideration for disabled<br />

people is reflected in the non‐ physical nature of its products.<br />

New Services organizes training sessions for its employees on a regular<br />

basis to improve their understanding of disability. In 2009, sessions<br />

devoted to deaf employees were organized.<br />

A support plan for seniors was implemented by New Services France in December 2009. The<br />

main commitments are the following:<br />

widespread implementation of an interview process regarding the second<br />

career phase for employees 45 and older;<br />

more actions to prevent professional risks and stress: increased medical<br />

monitoring for production employees, “Gestures and Postures” training;<br />

facilitating transitions to part‐time;<br />

improving tutoring responsibilities for employees who are 45 and older;<br />

and<br />

providing support transitioning from working life to retirement.<br />

o Gender equality in the workplace<br />

At year‐end 2009, 54% of New Services’ workforce consisted of women, 63% of which were<br />

in France.<br />

Over the past three years, gender equality has been respected in the company, with 52%<br />

women in 2007 and 54% in 2008.<br />

New Services encourages gender equality within the company and pays particular attention<br />

to the role of women in the workforce. The company encourages women to take on key positions, in<br />

some cases by promoting flextime for working mothers. Women held 45% of the company’s<br />

management positions in 2007, 44% in 2008 and 45% in 2009.<br />

Women are most present in the areas of human resources, finance, marketing, sales and<br />

customer services.<br />

Trends that originated in certain countries are now becoming more widespread:<br />

• New Services Italy was one of the first to sign the Charter for equal opportunity at<br />

work developed with the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Equal Opportunity.<br />

56% of New Services Italy's employees are women, with 45% holding management<br />

positions (three of them are members of the executive committee).<br />

• New Services Mexico received an award for being one of the best companies for<br />

women. In October 2009, the Great Place To Work Institute and Mujer Executiva<br />

magazine published the list of companies with human resources policies that value<br />

and encourage working women. In 2009, the number of women in a management<br />

position increased 19% compared to 2008.<br />
