For plane features, the rectangle is divided into N1 by N2 subrectangles, where N1 N2 is approximately
equal to the total number of measurement points N in order to achieve a nearly uniform
distribution of N points on the rectangular segments of a plane. Measurement points are chosen
randomly in every subrectangle so as to avoid possible measurement errors due to systematic or
periodic deformation on the feature. A uniform pseudo random generator can be used for this
purpose.
