High and Medium Voltage Switchgear
Efacec has become one of the partners with the widest portfolio
of solutions available to the Portuguese energy grid. In primary
distribution, it holds the largest share for supplying Metal-clad
Switchgear for 10 kV Substations. Also in the scope of High Voltage,
Efacec maintains its position of leadership in the supply of solutions
for REN and EDP and continues to be a partner of reference for the
Portuguese fabric industry.
• In 2010 a project of high technological complexity was successfully
developed and delivered to the new Portucel factory in Setúbal,
more precisely, to provide support to the largest paper machine
currently in production and belonging to the Portucel Soporcel
Group, a reference in the paper industry.
• In the scope of the Modernização das Escolas Secundárias
(modernization of high schools) programme carried out by the
Portuguese Government, Efacec Aparelhagem installed its
medium voltage equipment in the majority of the 75 schools
already modernized in 2010 during phase II of the programme.
Thus, Efacec carries on with its performance strategy in the
Portuguese market, becoming one of the main national players
with a market share of nearly 50%.
• The Unit includes its high and medium voltage switchgear products
in the turn-key project for the Nanotechnology Centre in Braga.
• The Unit was chosen by Generg to supply and install its solutions
in the Photovoltaic Parks of Ferreira do Alentejo and Porteirinhos,
and also supply solutions to the wind farm project in Serra da Boa
Viagem, with the cooperation of Efacec Engenharia e Sistemas
and the Renewables Unit.
• Algeria continues to be one of the main buyers of high voltage
switchgear. The country is one of the main sources of income
for the Unit, which in 2010 continued to receive the trust
that Sonelgaz/Algeria has in its solutions, materialized in the
continuity of orders made throughout the last 10 years. This
Algerian company owns a share of 50% of the total production of
Efacec’s QBN7 switchgear units.
Normafi x Modular Switchgear
• The Unit maintains its position in the Moroccan market as a
result of its partnership with Energy Transfo. This partnership
has been increasing market share due to the acknowledgment
of the quality of Efacec’s secondary distribution products by the
Moroccan market. Algeria has been successfully repeating supply
contracts of Normafi x 24 kV and 36 kV switchgear units to both
Algeria and Morocco, for secondary distribution in those markets.
• The Unit obtained important orders of Normacel switchboards for
Power Plants and Fluofi x GCT, in the scope of its joint-venture with
C&S Efacec MV India Pvt Ltd, improving business and marketing
synergies with its local partner - C&S Electric, which owns a high
market share in the supply of bus ducts for Power Plants. One of
the orders, with a total of 264 switchgear units with 11 kV – 40 kA,
is the largest order concerning this type of equipment (Normacel
with 40 kA) already obtained by Efacec. BSES Rajdhani & Yamuna
made an order to C&S Efacec MV India Pvt Ltd for Fluofi x GCTtype
compact Medium Voltage switchboards, corresponding to a
total of 150 switchgear units, a worldwide reference for Efacec.
• In 2010, the Unit was also selected to supply 24 Normafi x
switchgear units to the main Greek power company - PPC-Public
Power Corporation. This contract was achieved as a result of
successfully obtaining the certifi cation and recognition of the
quality of the proposed products.
• The fi rst supply contract concerning Medium Voltage Switchboards
for Paraguay was signed.
• During 2010, the Unit fulfi lled the supply of 19 PUCBETs (concrete
compact substations) for Equatorial Guinea.
• The Unit continues to deserve the trust of EDF and guaranteed
in 2010 another contract for the supply of Fluofi x 24 switchgear
units. This way, the relation between both parties is maintained
in a competitive and technologically demanding market, as is the
case of the French market.
