Characterization of Employees in Portugal and in the International Market<br />
Since this chapter is <strong>de</strong>dicated to the optimization and <strong>de</strong>velopment<br />
of <strong>Efacec</strong> employees, it is worth mentioning the main in<strong>de</strong>xes for<br />
their characterization.<br />
Employees placed in companies based in Portugal are basically<br />
distributed throughout the Group’s three geographical hubs.<br />
The hub of Arroteia inclu<strong>de</strong>s 1259 employees, the hub of Carnaxi<strong>de</strong><br />
has 937 and the hub of Maia has 888.<br />
<strong>Efacec</strong> employees are evenly distributed throughout the several age<br />
brackets.<br />
Approximately 70% of the company’s employees have a permanent<br />
contract and the remaining ones a fi xed-term contract. Employees<br />
un<strong>de</strong>r a fi xed-term contract have the same benefi ts as employees<br />

un<strong>de</strong>r a permanent contract, with the exception of health insurance.<br />
In 2011, this benefi t is expected to be exten<strong>de</strong>d to these employees.<br />
In <strong>2010</strong>, 165 employees left the company, which corresponds to a<br />
staff turnover of 5.4%.<br />
Non-discrimination of gen<strong>de</strong>r continues to be a focus of monitoring<br />
and continued efforts for <strong>Efacec</strong>, which operates in a sector where<br />
it is common to observe discrepancies between the number of men<br />
and women.<br />
<strong>Efacec</strong> employees profi t from a wi<strong>de</strong> range of benefi ts that<br />
contribute to a good work environment. It possesses facilities<br />
capable of providing major services that facilitate the employees’<br />
daily routine.<br />
