Human Resources, the aim of the project is to develop and reinforce
a culture of internationalization in Efacec.
In 2010, the programme was signifi cantly expanded with the
introduction of new subjects and a high number of activities in
already existing subjects.
Colombo Programme
The Colombo Programme is an initiative of Efacec aimed at
encouraging the development of creative ideas from its Employees.
In 2010, the 2nd edition of the programme was made, giving
continuity to the pilot edition made between 2008 and 2009.
At the end of the 2nd edition, a total of 544 ideas were proposed,
out of which 186 were approved. Over 250 employees participated
in the 2nd edition, and 122 of them were rewarded.
The CEO of Efacec, Mr. Luís Filipe Pereira, headed the award
ceremony for the 1st half-year. The ceremony also included the
presence of the remaining Executive Committee.
At the beginning of 2011, the 3rd edition of the programme was
launched, which is expected to be another success.
Safety and Health
Between the 22nd and the 26th of March took place the 1st week fully
dedicated to health, safety and environment.
The 5 main themes approached during this initiative were Safety,
Ergonomics, Emergency, Environment and Health.
On the day dedicated to Emergency, Efacec counted on the
participation from three external fi re departments and the Polícia
de Segurança Pública (Portuguese Public Security Police) to perform
four large simulations as close as possible to real situations.
Efacec’s Private Fire Department took advantage of the situation
to use new fi re-fi ghting suits and new autonomous breathing
equipment. Ergonomics awareness sessions were carried out in the
scope of Health, Safety and Well-being of Employees. Sketch Seguro

(a sketch about security), the constant encouragement of correct
ergonomic postures, massage sessions and radical safety activities
are some examples of the activities that were made.
In addition, Health Spots received a lot of attention, observing over
600 people. Screenings were made for heart diseases, including a
Smoke Check and spirometry. As for Environment, several activities
connected to natural resources were promoted, especially regarding
water. The event also included a showroom of products and services
related to Safety.

accidents and their consequences:
