Chapter 3: Using Progress Sonic Launcher Installer
The Choose Java Virtual Machine panel opens.
On Windows, the preset option is to have the installer create a Java Runtime
Environment (JRE) within the installation directory.
On any platform, the installer will attempt to discover qualified JREs that could be
used. To choose one such JRE, click Choose a Java VM already installed on this
system, and then click on your preferred JVM.
To locate an installed JVM that is not displayed, click Choose another Java VM, and
then click Browse. Navigate to the /jre/bin directory of the chosen JRE, and then
choose java.exe. When you click OK, the installer will verify that you selected an
acceptable JVM.
Important Your selection of an installed JVM applies to use by the runtime software. On
Windows, the installer always installs a JVM for use by the uninstaller, so there is no
saving in disk space by selecting the same JVM version in another location.
4. Specify the preferred JVM option and location, and then click Next.
