8.5 brokers accept connections from C/C++/COM clients that are 6.1 through 8.5.
Compatibility of .NET Clients with Brokers
8.5 brokers accept connections from .NET (C#) clients that are 6.1 through 8.5.
Note Java Client Code Changes — The code changes required for SonicMQ applications that
were written and compiled under 7.5 or 7.6 to run under 8.5 libraries are minimal.
Applications that used the SonicMQ API, the Management API, and the Metrics and
Notifications API require no changes or recompilation.
Applications that used the Configuration API require some changes, and then
compilation. Those changes are described in the Progress SonicMQ Administrative
Programming Guide.
Important Templates — If you use templates in your domain configurations, evaluate how they
interact with clusters and replicated brokers before you start performing upgrades. Each
of these forces related configurations to be upgraded concurrently. See “Upgrading
Template Derived Objects” on page 216 for more information.
