Progress Sonic Licenses
Many Progress Sonic installations require one or more license keys (control numbers) that
determine the configuration options available to you:
● When you register for evaluation at www.progress.com/sonic, a license key for an
Evaluation Edition is sent to your e-mail address. Note that an evaluation license key
expires at the end of the evaluation period.
● For Progress Software customers, the license key is in the License Addendum
included with the product.
● Product packagings (SKUs) might include several types of licenses.
The license keys entered for various Progress Sonic installation types are:

The features that distinguish the SonicMQ runtime licenses are:
● License Type — Evaluation licenses provide time-delimited full access to the product
functionality. Platform and user restrictions for each license type are detailed in the
End User License Agreement, installed at progress_sonic_license.txt.
● Continuous Availability — When a SonicMQ messaging broker does not have this
functionality, clients requests for fault tolerant connections are downgraded. Also,
broker replication is not functional unless the peer brokers are licensed for
Continuous Availability.
You need a SonicMQ evaluation license for deployment evaluation, and a Sonic ESB
evaluation license to evaluate ESB in a deployment environment.
