Sonic Updater Parameters and Procedures Sonic Updater Parameters and Procedures When a Sonic 8.5 Service Pack is announced, you can download it, and then capture the parameters used in a Sonic Updater session to edit them for reuse. You could simply create a response file in your preferred text editor using the values and examples provided in this section. Important You can reuse the same file for updates on multiple systems provided that the platform/path information is appropriate Capturing Response Files You can capture the responses you use during an update for tailoring and reuse. ◆ To record your responses when you run the Sonic Updater: 1. In a console window opened to the folder where the setup file is located, enter: install.exe -r file where file is the name of file on an explicit path where you have write access. For example, when SP 1 is available: install.exe -r c:\8.5_updaterWindows.rsp The installer opens the graphical installer wizard. 2. Proceed through the panels to set the values for the update, then complete the update. The updater must complete the update successfully in order for the recording to be saved.
