Chapter 7: Upgrading Version 8 Domains and Tools
Results of a Domain Manager Upgrade
The Domain Manager container and the components it hosts are all Version 8.5.
The following components were upgraded automatically to Version 8.5:
● WebService Protocol configurations
● Component Collection configurations
● Container Collection configurations
● Agent Manager configurations
● Directory Service configurations
● Authentication Domain configurations
● Authentication SPI configurations
● Management SPI configurations
● Authorization Policy configurations
Updating Classloading Paths in Service Types
The service types in the Directory Service need to have their classloading information
upgraded. You accomplish this through an export/remap/import set of steps.
Note You can exclude specified services from this procedure by editing
sonic_install_dir/ESB8.5/bin/upgrade/exportServices.xml. If you do that, you might
need to manually adjust the classloading configuration for those services later.
◆ To update service classpaths:
1. On the Domain Manager machine you are upgrading, start the ESB Admin tool:
■ Choose Start > Programs > Progress > Sonic8.5 > Tools> ESB Admin Tool
■ Enter a shell command for sonic_install_dir/ESB8.5/bin/esbadmin.bat or .sh.
2. Enter a connect command such as:
connect Domain1 tcp://localhost:2506 Administrator Administrator
3. Execute the following commands, using appropriate paths for your machine:
export archive c:/temp/services80.xar upgrade/exportServices.xml
applyMap -xar c:/temp/services80.xar -xar c:/temp/services85.xar
-map upgrade/upgradeMap.xml -log c:/temp/applyMap.log
import archive c:/temp/services85.xar override
When you have completed the procedure, all references to 8.0 system jars have been
upgraded and their configurations are supported in any 8.0 or 8.5 ESB container.
