The type of installation guides the installer to select appropriate options and parameters for the software it will install. Choose the installation type you want, and then advance to the corresponding instructions: ■ “Installing Development Environments” on page 75 ❑ For Sonic ESB development, choose Sonic Development, and then click Next. Go to“Installing a Progress Sonic Workbench” on page 76 to continue. ❑ For SonicMQ development, choose Sonic Development, and then click Next. Installing Development Environments Installing Development Environments Sonic provides both time-limited evaluation and full usage licensing of two development environments: ● Sonic Workbench — A complete development platform for web services and enterprise services, that includes all the Sonic tools and products: ■ Eclipse development platform with perspectives for Sonic development and testing ■ Sonic ESB products (Sonic ESB, Sonic Connect, Sonic BPEL Server, and Sonic Database Service) and samples ■ SonicMQ as the underlying messaging infrastructure. Includes the SonicMQ with messaging and management samples ■ Sonic Administration Tools including the Sonic Management Console, and the JMS Test Client ■ Sonic Deployment Manager (SDM) and the SDM sample models ■ On Windows, the preferred Java Runtime Environment (optional) See “Installing a Progress Sonic Workbench” on page 76 for this type of installation. ● SonicMQ Development — A complete development platform for secure messaging applications, and deployment of framework components and messaging brokers, that includes the following Sonic tools and products: ■ SonicMQ with messaging and management samples ■ Sonic Administration Tools including the Sonic Management Console, and the JMS Test Client ■ Sonic Deployment Manager (SDM) and the SDM sample models ■ On Windows, the preferred Java Runtime Environment (optional) See “Installing SonicMQ for Development” on page 82 for this type of installation.
