Setting up Replication Connections for the Broker Peers
The replication connection defines the hosts and ports for replication. For this example,
you enter the actual host name and differentiated port numbers.
◆ To setup replication connections and initiate replication between the brokers:
1. In the Brokers folder, expand br1. Right-click on Replication Connections, and then
choose New Replication Connection. Enter the values shown:
where:
■ the value hostname (not localhost!) is replaced by the system’s host name
■ the port values are different (because the example is on a single system).
2. Click OK.
The brokers are ready but the primary broker needs to reload
3. On the Manage tab, expand the Containers folder, and then expand ct1.
4. Right-click on the broker name, and then choose Operations > Reload.
5. Observe in the container windows of ct1 and ct2 that the brokers connect and
synchronize:
■ Container ct1 indicates in its console window that br1 is seeking its peer.
■ Container ct2 indicates in its console window that br1 (Backup) has left WAITING
state, and is performing deep synchronization with its peer.
The brokers are setup, running, and replicating. The primary broker takes the ACTIVE role,
and its backup takes the STANDBY role.
