Author’s Biography<br />

Prof. Ayman Othman is an Associate Professor at the Architectural<br />

Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, the British<br />

University in Egypt (BUE). He obtained his B.Sc. in Architectural<br />

Engineering from Assiut University, Egypt in 1991. Since then he<br />

has worked as an architect and project manager in different national<br />

and international architectural design firms and government<br />

authorities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He<br />

got his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in <strong>Construction</strong> Management from Heriot-<br />

Watt University and Loughborough University, UK in 1999 and<br />

2004 respectively.<br />

Before joining the BUE in 2009, Prof. Othman worked as a Senior<br />

Lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Surveying &<br />

<strong>Construction</strong>, Faculty of Engineering, University of KwaZulu-Natal,<br />

South Africa. He successfully supervised and graduated a number of<br />

masters and honours research dissertations.<br />

Prof. Othman is an active researcher in the field of <strong>Construction</strong> Management. To date he published<br />

more than 40 academic papers in refereed journals, conferences and book chapters. He is a registered<br />

referee and member of advisory board of a number of international academic journals. He is a<br />

member of the Egyptian Engineering Syndicate, Egypt; the Project Management Institute (PMI),<br />

USA; the Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE), USA; and the Arab Society for Computer<br />

Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD). His area of research interest includes: value and risk<br />

management, dynamic brief development in construction, sustainability, corporate social<br />

responsibility, partnership, client satisfaction, information management and technology, strategic<br />

management in construction, team building and maintenance management.
