Also, according to our experts, reading, as a pastime, is one of thebest ways of increasing your vocabulary and the more cultured the authors and topics of thebooks you read are, the better possibilities of augmenting the formality of your language.Television’s educational programs and newscasts are also good sources of proper lexicon.We arrived at the abovementioned reasoning after conducting a case study among several (4) ofthe professors at the UABC’s Language School, campus Mexicali.Mentioned below are the activities that our surveyed teachers manifested as extra-curricularmethods by which they acquired a high register (a sample of the questionnaire is presented asAnnex 1).
