Summary
Predictive value of echocardiography parameters assessment
in children with dilated cardiomyopathy
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in children is a rare heart disorder, but show high
mortality despite the new treatment methods. Evaluation of children with DCM includes
echocardiography examination (EchoCG) to assess signs of negative prognosis. Our study
included evaluation of 24 children with DCM; patients of both sexes (mean age 73 ± 1,23
months). Clinical outcome allowed to determine significant associations correlations and
predictive values in assessing the risk of death of myocardial performance index Tei of left
ventricle and other EchoCG parameters (LVEF, R= 0.87, thickness of the IVS, R = 0.7 and
