Summary<br />
Interrelations between arterial hypertension in adolescents and<br />
heart rhythm distubances<br />
Hypertension is a disease with long evolution as one of the most important causes of<br />
premature <strong>de</strong>ath worldwi<strong>de</strong>. Prevalence of hypertension in children and adolescents varies<br />
highly, <strong>de</strong>pending on many factors. Hypertension is often associated by different types of<br />
arrhythmias. Although arrhythmias in children and adolescents have a benign nature, it is<br />
necessary their early diagnosis and treatment to prevent sud<strong>de</strong>n <strong>de</strong>ath at any age. In this<br />
retrospective study there were inclu<strong>de</strong>d 47 children (14-17 years). We analyzed the <strong>de</strong>gree of<br />
hypertension, circadian rhythm, presence and type of arrhythmia from standard EKG and Holter<br />
monitoring. Concomitant analysis of ABPM and EKG Holter <strong>de</strong>termined that the number of<br />
327
