The overall characteristics of Tubins symphonic style are: the importance of the<br />
original idea, the rhythmic pulse, and the clear structure, coherence of the formal structure,<br />
contrapuntal texture and great orchestration skill. Tubin is a traditionalist and classicist at heart, but<br />
completely independent in his melodic and rhythmic aspects, which makes his music personal.<br />
Estonians are very proud to have a great composer such as Tubin. Even though he<br />
lived in Sweden nearly 40 years, he never felt himself totally accepted. In the later years his music<br />
has been played many places all over the world. There is no doubt that Tubin deserves a place in<br />
contemporary musical history, still his music awaits discovery by the world.<br />
