Secretory Glands<br />

The three major glands (eccr<strong>in</strong>e, apocr<strong>in</strong>e, and sebaceous) responsible for<br />

the secretion of “sweat” are shown <strong>in</strong> Figure 3.3. The eccr<strong>in</strong>e glands are<br />

usually found throughout the body, but the highest densities are found <strong>in</strong><br />

the palms and soles. The sebaceous glands are typically localized to regions<br />

conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g hair follicles, as well as the face and scalp. The apocr<strong>in</strong>e glands
