This course covers the basic principles of accounting. In this course, the basic principles of analyzing<br />
transactions, recording them in a general journal, posting them to the general ledger,<br />
and preparing the basic financial statements.<br />

This course completes the study of basic financial accounting and moves into the basic concepts<br />
and computations associated with cost and managerial accounting. (Prerequisite: ACC<br />

This course provides the student with a basic understanding of the visual arts. The nature of<br />
art, the evaluation of art, the processes and materials of art are covered. A chronological study<br />
of world art in its cultural setting from the prehistoric to the contemporary is also included.<br />

Topics covered include the history of astronomy, methods of astronomy, formation of the solar<br />
system, and the physical characteristics of the sun, planets, moons, and minor members of the<br />
solar system. Identification of stellar objects is included. May be taken with PHYS 1030 to<br />
form a two-semester sequence in physical science.<br />

This course is an introduction to Windows based microcomputers. Students will learn general<br />
concepts of using the microcomputer, Windows operating system, the Internet, and basic word<br />

interface design, creating menus and dialog boxes, writing event and general procedures,<br />
and using operating system services.<br />

This course is designed to enable students to develop customized database applications. A brief<br />
survey of relational database techniques and methods is included. The emphasis will be on developing<br />
the necessary skills to design, create, and implement user-friendly front ends for relational<br />
databases. The course will concentrate on developing and coding procedures using<br />
Visual Basic for Application. (Prerequisites: CIS 113 or the equivalent)<br />

This course will cover the fundamental concepts of the Internet and World Wide Web, including<br />
how the Internet works, protocols and services, addressing and routing in the Internet.<br />
Students will design and create web pages, create and edit graphic images for web pages, and<br />
use simple Java. (Prerequisite: BIT 1150)
