The following procedures must be followed to register a student organization<br />

and gain active status:<br />

1) Submit an application for the formation of a new club. Applications are available<br />

from the office of the Assistant VP for Student Services and<br />

Multicultural Affairs or the Coordinator of Student Activities.<br />

2) Secure a faculty advisor for the organization.<br />

3) Secure approval from the Coordinator of Student Activities to hold an organizational<br />

meeting.<br />

4) Prepare and submit the Constitution of the organization which must contain<br />

the following: the name, purpose, proposed activities, rules of membership<br />

of the organization, officers, their terms and method of selection, nature and<br />

frequency of meetings, and financial plans including any proposed fees, dues<br />

and assessments.<br />

5) A signed statement of compliance by the organization that it will comply<br />

with all rules and regulations, policies, and procedures of the board and the<br />

institution and with all federal and state laws and regulations.<br />

To retain an active status all organizations must submit the following information<br />

annually to the Coordinator of Student Activities.<br />

1) A club roster containing the current officers and sponsors.<br />

2) Changes in the Constitution or Bylaws.<br />

3) An annual report outlining the organization’s activities and accomplishments<br />

for the year.<br />

An organization may be placed on probation or suspended for the following reasons:<br />

1) Failure to maintain compliance with the initial registration requirements.<br />

2) The organization ceases to operate.<br />

3) The organization fails to submit any required reports.<br />

4) The organization requests withdrawal of registration.<br />

5) The organization operates or engages in any activity in violation of rules and<br />

regulations of the institution or federal or state laws.<br />

All organizational members and advisors are responsible for being familiar with<br />

the guidelines and policies listed above.<br />

The Testing Center provides a wide range of services to both the <strong>College</strong> and the<br />

community. As a service to students entering <strong>Roane</strong> <strong>State</strong>, to other local students, and<br />

to residents of the community, the <strong>College</strong> serves as a testing center for the General<br />

Educational Development (GED) test. The Testing Center also administers the ACT<br />

Test on national test dates. For students who have made application to <strong>Roane</strong> <strong>State</strong>, the<br />

college testing center administers the ACT Residual and placement tests. In addition,<br />

the Center provides testing for the RN Entrance Examination, LPN Challenge, Health<br />

Science Entrance Exam and special departmental performance exams. The Academic<br />

Profile test required of all graduating sophomores is also provided by the Center.<br />
