Tuition and fees are assessed and payable at registration each semester. Registration<br />

is not considered to have been completed until all assessed tuition and fees have been<br />

paid. Tuition and fees paid by check are not considered to have been paid until the<br />

check has cleared the bank. Students who have not met all financial obligations at the<br />

college will not be permitted to attend classes. No student will be permitted to reenroll,<br />

graduate, or receive a transcript until all financial obligations to the college have been<br />

satisfied. All tuition and fees are subject to change by direction of the Tennessee<br />

Board of Regents and will be posted on <strong>Roane</strong> <strong>State</strong>’s web page as changes are<br />

made. The current semester class schedule should be consulted for current tuition and<br />

fee rates. Any student who has a question or problem concerning tuition, fees, or other<br />

monetary transactions pertaining to the college should contact the Business Office.<br />

TUITION—REFUNDABLE<br />

All students, both resident and non-resident, will be assessed a tuition fee. The tuition<br />

fee rate for the 2005-<strong>2006</strong> academic year was $91 per semester hour, not to exceed<br />

$1071 per semester.<br />

OUT-OF-STATE TUITION—REFUNDABLE<br />

Out-of-state tuition is free to all residents of the <strong>State</strong> of Tennessee. Students classified<br />

as nonresidents will be assessed tuition plus out-of-state regular tuition fees. The<br />

semester out-of-state tuition rate for the 2005-<strong>2006</strong> academic year was $278 per semester<br />

hour, not to exceed $3207 per semester. The definition of residency as determined<br />

by the Tennessee Board of Regents will apply. Information concerning residence<br />

classifications may be obtained from the Director of Records and Registration. Nonresident<br />

students will be accepted if space permits.<br />

SUMMER AND ALTERNATIVE SESSION FEES<br />

Semesters are offered as full session, express sessions, and/or accelerated sessions.<br />

Any session may vary in the number of weeks that the classes meet. Students may register<br />

for the full session, alternative sessions or any combination thereof. Tuition rates<br />

and fees are applied based on the total number of enrolled hours per semester regardless<br />

of individual session hours. For any student registering for any course(s) or adding<br />

course(s), the assessment of course fees, late fees and change of schedule fees is determined<br />

by courses (if any) for which the student registered before the first official day<br />

of classes for each session. The primary consideration in determining what fees are as-
