Guesthouse1has20singleand5doublerooms(withtwoseparatebedrooms). Allofthemhavea<br />
bathroom,aterraceorabalcony,andareequippedwithtelephones.Ourguestsusetwofullyequipped<br />
communalkitchensandonemeetingroom,withasmalllibraryandaTVset.<br />
Guesthouse2offerstenone-bedroomapartmentswithkitchen,foruptotwopersons,andthreelarge<br />
two-bedroomapartmentswithalivingroom,bathroomandkitchenforuptothreepersons(e.g.families).<br />
Oneoftheseapartmentsissuitedforhandicappedpersons.Allapartmentshaveabalconyoraterrace,<br />
andareequippedwithTVconnectionportsandtelephones. Inthebasementofguesthouse2,two<br />
washingmachinesandatumbledryerareavailable.Theyareaccessiblefromallthreeguesthouses.<br />
Guesthouse3allowstoaccommodateguestsinfivelargetwo-bedroomapartmentswithsimilarequipment<br />
astheonesinguesthouse2. Theyaresituatedonthesecondfloor. Onthefirstfloor,twosimilar<br />
apartmentshavebeenconvertedintoofficesandareusedbyshorttermguestscientists.<br />
Theguesthouseroomsandapartmentsareregularlycleanedandtowelsandbedlinenexchanged.Cots<br />
andTVsetscanberentedfreeofcharge. Inalmostallapartmentsoftheguesthouses,WLANis<br />
available.<br />
Aditionally,theinstituteprovidesaspecialapartmentforscientistswithchildren. Itcanbeusedby<br />
institutemembersandworkshopparticipantsundercertainconditionsanduponconsultationwiththe<br />
visitorsprogram.Alsochilddaycarecanbearrangedforworkshopparticipants.<br />

3.9.1 ScientificAdvisoryBoard<br />
Accordingtotherulesofthe<strong>Max</strong><strong>Planck</strong>Societythe mpipkshasaScientificAdvisoryBoard. The<br />
membersoftheBoardadvisetheboardofdirectorsconcerningtheresearchattheinstitute. The<br />
Boardassessestheresearchdirectionoftheinstitute,thescientificrelevanceandchancesforsuccess<br />
oftheresearchprojects,aswellasthecollaborationsamongmembersoftheinstitute,withuniversities,<br />
otherresearchinstitutionsandwithindustry.TheScientificAdvisoryBoardevaluatestheresultsofthe<br />
researchworkpresentedbytheboardofdirectorsinthebiennialresearchreportandprepares,usually<br />
everytwoyears,areportforthePresidentofthe<strong>Max</strong><strong>Planck</strong>Societyontheresearchoftheinstitute.<br />
