The M.A. in Education with a Teaching Emphasis requires the following<br />

coursework:<br />

1. Completion of a Professional Clear Credential through a<br />

CCTC–approved Induction Program or the Fifth Year Coursework<br />

(ASED 586, 587, 588, 589)<br />

2. Action Research Class (ASED 594), usually in summer<br />

3. Professional Writing (ASED 554), Research in Culture & Intercultural<br />

Instruction (ASED 524) and Advanced Educational<br />

Psychology (ASED 502) with a grade of “B” or better prior to<br />

continuing with the remaining M.A. core courses.<br />

4. TTBE 732, Life of Christ<br />

5. Completion of M.A. core: ASED 501, Philosophy and Values<br />

in School and Society; ASED 503, Educational Research and<br />

Statistics; ASED 504, Advanced Curriculum and Instruction<br />

6. Completion of the Professional Development Module (596)<br />

7. Completion of the Capstone (595, exam; 598, Research Project;<br />

or 599, Thesis)<br />

8. A minimum of 38 graduate units (may include up to 12 units<br />

of graduate student teaching taken through <strong>Biola</strong> <strong>University</strong> if<br />

earning an M.A. under the Induction program).<br />

d. ISCL 556, World Religions course or approved elective<br />

e. ISCL 724, Issues in Spiritual Warfare course or approved<br />
