This Act came into force <strong>on</strong> November i, 1904.<br />

October 24, 1904. Order in Council.<br />

This Order was published in the " L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong> Gazette " of October<br />

28, 1904, and by it further regulati<strong>on</strong>s were made for the assaying;<br />

of foreign <strong>gold</strong> and <strong>silver</strong>, and illustrati<strong>on</strong>s were given of such<br />

hall-<str<strong>on</strong>g>marks</str<strong>on</strong>g> as should be particular to each assay office. The standard<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>marks</str<strong>on</strong>g> to be used in all offices are as follows :<br />

On foreign <strong>gold</strong> <strong>plate</strong>, the carat value of the <strong>gold</strong>, together<br />

with the carat value for the six standard :<br />

On foreign <strong>silver</strong> <strong>plate</strong> for the two standards
