HALL MARKS ON PLATE.<br />

The assay mark of this Office was altered as follows, by the<br />

before-menti<strong>on</strong>ed Order in Council of 1906, and is now for foreign<br />

<strong>plate</strong> for <strong>gold</strong> :<br />

And for <strong>silver</strong><br />

Air. John Wats<strong>on</strong> and Mr. Arnold T. Wats<strong>on</strong>, former Assay<br />

Masters, most courteously furnished us with the variable letter for<br />

each year, from the commencement in 1773, taken from references in<br />

the Minute Books, wherein are recorded the meetings for the electi<strong>on</strong><br />

of new Wardens. The present Assay Master, Mr. B. W. Wats<strong>on</strong>,<br />

has also given us other valuable informati<strong>on</strong>.
