8. Disabled employees
Valeo amended its Code of Ethics in 2004, further strengthening its
commitment to promote the respect of people’s dignity and value in
the workplace as well as equal rights for workers. Consequently, the
Valeo Group participates in measures to promote the employment
and training of disabled workers.
At December 31, 2007, 777 disabled employees worked for the
Group, 24% fewer than in 2006.
9. Social and cultural activities
In most of the countries in which it has operations the Group makes
financial contributions to sports, educational, cultural or charity
organizations. In 2007, 34.4 million euros was spent on social
benefits programs, representing 2.3% of total payroll excluding
social charges.

10. Subcontracting
Valeo uses subcontractors for specific services carried out at its sites,
such as gardening, cleaning, maintenance, IT and administrative
support.

To help meet its recruitment requirements, Valeo has entered into a
number of partnerships with higher education establishments and
universities in the regions where it operates.
It also participates in numerous forums and open days in order
to present the Group’s activities to students and future graduates.

In France there were 466 disabled employees at December 31, 2007
(608 at end-2006 and 652 at end-2005), representing 3% of the
total headcount. The number of subcontracting and service contracts
set up with centers promoting the employment of disabled workers
represented almost 3.7 million euros in 2007 (3.4 million euros
in 2006).
